Flagship
Technologies Drops Support for Quicken... |
MADISON, MO -- Flagship Technologies, Inc. has announced that, as
of today, it is suspending development of products which support
Intuit's Quicken accounting software.
Company president Mark Wilsdorf said Flagship is suspending
development of Quicken-related products so that the company can
focus all of its development efforts on QuickBooks-related products.
Reasons cited for the change of product focus include soft demand
for Quicken-related products in agriculture, growing demand for
QuickBooks-related products, and technological changes that will
allow even better 3rd-party support for QuickBooks in the near
future.
ManagePLUS for Quicken is currently Flagship's only
product which works with Quicken. Sales of the product will
continue; however, in the future ManagePLUS for Quicken will not be
updated to work with new Quicken versions. The product is compatible
with Quicken versions 5, 6, 98, 99, and 2000.
Wilsdorf noted that this announcement does not affect the
company's ManagePLUS for QuickBooks product, which will
continue to be updated and enhanced to work with new versions of
QuickBooks. Further, Wilsdorf said to expect announcements about new
QuickBooks products over the coming months.
