EBooks

❖Instructions for downloading ebooks to your computer or mobile device are provided on each ebook's Web page.

❖An Authorization Code for "unlocking" your ebook will be emailed to you immediately after purchase.

❖Each Authorization Code permits installing an ebook on two devices, such as a PC and a tablet or smartphone.

Returns / refunds

❖Print books may be returned for refund within 10 days of purchase if in resalable condition.

❖You must contact us for a return authorization number (RAN) before returning any book.

❖EBooks are not returnable for refund. Please view the free Look inside samples before ordering.

The installer for your software purchase is a free download, always.

To install any of our software products you must download the product's installer from our Web site. The installer is an executable program which you will run to install the software on your computer. From the installation date, you may use the software in trial mode free for 30 days. After 30 days the software will require purchasing a software license to continue using the software.

If you purchase the software, we will send you a license code to "unlock" the software permanently. (If you purchase a software license but and have not yet installed the software you still must download the software's installer and run it to install the software.)

One-time purchase, not a subscription!

Except where otherwise noted, all of our software products are sold as a one-time purchase. You are free to use the software for as long as you like with no additional fees. (This is in contrast to the monthly or annual subscription fees charged for many products.)

Exception:  we may charge a fee for upgrading to a newer version, but upgrades are always optional:  we never require you to purchase an upgrade.

After purchase:  receiving your license codes

For most software purchases you will receive a permanent license code by email immediately after purchase. For others, you will immediately receive a 90-day temporary license code. In that case, we will send you a permanent license code typically within 1 to 2 business days.

(We reserve the right to delay sending your permanent code until after the credit/debit card purchase dispute period (currently 60 days), especially based on our experience with fraudulent purchases from certain non-US locations).

Returns / refunds

Software products are not returnable for refund.

We want every customer to be satisfied with their purchase, so please Try Before You Buy!  Most of our software products can be installed and used for free for 30 days before requiring a license purchase to continue using them.

Software upgrades

Many minor-version upgrades are free to licensed users—just download the installer for the newer version and install it over the top of your old version. We may charge a fee for more significant upgrades, but the price to licensed users is always less than the new license price. Upgrades are always optional:  we never require you to upgrade. Some customers have used our products for 4+ years without upgrading.

Books, CDs, and Other Physical Items

Physical items are guaranteed for a period of 30 days against defects in materials and workmanship only. (This is a warranty of merchantability but not a warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.) If you receive an item which you believe is defective, contact us for a replacement. Our liability under this guarantee is limited to replacement of the defective item(s) or a refund of the purchase price, at our sole discretion.

Software Products and EBooks

We provide no warranty of any kind for software products or EBooks. We offer a 30-day free trial period of the full-working versions of our software products so that you may try them for yourself before purchasing, to see if they provide the features and capabilities you need. We also provide sample editions of our EBooks, so that you may install them on the desired device(s) (PC, tablet, smartphone, etc.) and verify that they are viewable on the device(s) before purchasing.

Other Machine-Readable Items

We provide no guarantee of any kind for document files, software product documentation, or other machine-readable items. However, if you alert us to potential defects or problems we will usually attempt to fix the defect and make the updated version available to you at no additional charge.

We accept MasterCard, VISA, Discover, and PayPal on all orders. Additionally, for mail-in and telephone orders we also accept business or personal checks, and money orders.

Payments for Non-US Orders

Purchase Orders

We collect Missouri sales tax on orders shipped to Missouri addresses. For orders delivered by email we collect Missouri sales tax if the address of the credit card holder or checking account holder is a Missouri address.

Sales Tax Resale Numbers

We no longer make our products available for resale by dealers, therefore we no longer require dealers' state sales tax ID numbers.

However, now anyone can earn commissions on sales of our products simply by providing product links on your Web page or Web site. See our Affiliate Program page for details.

Coupon codes may be used for online orders only, not for telephone or mail-in orders.

If you have a coupon code, you may redeem it by entering the code in the Coupon box on the shopping card page after selecting an item to purchase:

Coupon codes are often product specific. When they are, the code will not result in a discount on your order unless you are purchasing the specified product.

Coupon Redemption Policy

Shipping charges consist of a base rate + an additional amount based on the total weight of the order. Combining items in one order usually results in a lower shipping charge than ordering items separately. However, items which have no shipping weight, such as a software license we deliver by email do not incur a shipping charge.

To estimate shipping charges before placing an order, add the desired items to your shopping cart, then proceed to order checkout. Fill in the order information as requested until you reach a screen which shows the order's shipping options. Select the desired shipping option to see total shipping costs for the order. Then, you may either continue with the order, or cancel it.

U.S. Orders

Our minimum shipping & handling charge for orders is $8.00 per order if a physical product will be delivered to you, such as a printed book. Otherwise, no shipping & handling charge will be applied.

Canadian Orders

Shipping to Canada is calculated from our base rate + a Canadian order surcharge to cover the much-higher costs for postage/shipping to Canada, including the requirement that we complete a U.S. Customs form for each non-US shipment. We absorb some of the additional cost (compared to US orders); unfortunately, the cost of physical shipments to Canada are more expensive than it seems they should be.

Delivery Times

Please contact us if you have not received your order as follows:

❖Allow 10 business days for delivery of physical items like CDs or books, which are shipped by mail or a delivery service.

❖Allow 2 business days for delivery of items delivered by email, such as software Registration codes.
